Q: What are the requirements for licensing renewal?

A: Licenses are issued for a two (2) year period and must:

  • be renewed by June 30;
  • all requirements for renewal, including continuing education requirements, have been completed by June 15th of the renewal year; and
  • the application has been submitted in a manner prescribed by the commissioner.

A licensee may not continue to transact business if they have not received notice of approval.

Practice Tip: To ensure that the DOC has enough time to process your continuing education information, it is a good idea to have all of your course completion information submitted by June 1st. This is especially vital in the situation of a government shutdown.
