This course will help real estate practitioners represent and counsel buyers by assessing buyers’ needs and wants, as well as preparing them to make informed decisions. The instructor will help licensees understand the obligations to fully explain MN agency relationships and the option available to buyers. The class will also cover the requirements of Federal Fair Housing laws and best practices.

John brings extensive real estate experience to the classroom, both in residential transactions and in the rental/leasing markets. This course will help real estate professionals understand the practices of negotiating on behalf of, and in the best interests of, their real estate clients in the purchase, sale, or lease of real property. Students will learn how to understand the needs, concerns, priorities and motivations of parties to the negotiation in order to better serve the interests of their clients.

In this position she serves as in-house counsel for the Association and oversees risk management issues including the MN REALTORS® approved Forms, Buyer/Seller Arbitration and will be overseeing the Associaiton’s Professional Standards Program.


1 PM – 4 PM | Proper Pricing and Secrets of the CMA | Instructor: Chris Prescott

This course covers various aspects of researching, developing and presenting a Comparative Market Analysis when working with sellers. Topics will include information on what real estate value is and isn’t, tips on handling sellers’ common pricing misconceptions as well as how agents can educate sellers on the benefits of properly pricing a property to meet the sellers’ goals. The instructor will present elements of a thorough CMA, how market dynamics effect pricing, and the relation of pricing to timing.
